JANNAWI OVERVIEW & STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Jannawi exists today because in 1976 a few committed workers and the local community came together because of their concern for the safety and wellbeing of children in their community. Ever since, that combination of commitment and partnerships has seen services provided that have helped keep children safe and contributed to a better future for thousands of children and families.

We may use different words today to talk about the circumstances facing the children and families and to describe what we seek to achieve, but in any decade those involved in this work would agree about what is at its heart. A wish to keep children at risk of harm safe and contribute to the safety, health and happiness of all the children we work with and through our partnerships contribute to the wellbeing of all the children in our local community.
