Jannawi is a non government organisation with its own board and receives the bulk of its funding from the state government to deliver services. Established as the Wiley Park Centre in 1978, the name Jannawi was introduced in 1991 when the program underwent a restructure.

Jannawi provides two distinct programs, a child protection service the Family Program and a Bilingual Famiy Support Program Community Connections.

Jannawi also has a history of provided training and consultation to the community sector and in developing specialised resources to use in child protection work.

Apart from its own direct work Jannawi through a range of partnerships contributes to statewide, regional and local initiatives designed to promote improved outcomes for children, families and communities.
